HALOS? Stamp Mounting System is, in our opinion, the best way to use and organize unmounted rubber stamps. This is the system that we use for our own personal unmounted stamp collection, so we thought you would like it too.
HALOS? mounts are clear acrylic mounts with strips of hook tape (like Velcro?). (See the picture on the left.) You put loop tape on the back of your unmounted stamps, then stick them to the hook tape on the mounts -- voila! A flexible and useful mounting system that will allow you to save money and storage space!
Here's how it works
All you need to get started are:
- An unmounted rubber stamp (any Rubber Trouble stamp is fine!)
- A HALOS? acrylic mount
- HALOS? Loop Tape
- Scissors

Trim the rubber stamp is closely as you like, then peel the paper backing from your HALOS? Loop Tape. Stick the stamp to the loop tape, then trim around it with your scissors. (See the image to the right.)

Next, take your HALOS? acrylic mount and place the stamp (or stamps) on the mount. You can use one stamp or many! See the image on the left for an example.

Next, stamp just as you would with a traditional wood mount! HALOS? have one benefit traditional stamps don't have, though -- you can see right though the mount for easy precision placement of the stamped image.

When you're done stamping, just pull the stamps off the mount (don't worry, the mount and stamps can be stuck and unstuck more than 10,000 times before wearing out!), and hold them under cool running water to wash them off. Water won't hurt them at all! Let them dry overnight and you're ready to store them.
![[Image of HALOS stamps stored in a notebook]](/images/halos/stampstrip1.jpg)
To store your HALOS?, you can just put strips of HALOS? Hook Tape on a notebook page or file folder, and attach the stamps to the strip. You can stamp each image next to its spot on the page for a quick and easy image. A collection of hundreds of stamps can be stored in one notebook! You won't need shelves or boxes any more now that you're using HALOS?. And even better -- unmounted stamps cost half of what mounted stamps do. So you'll have the money and the storage space for lots more stamps! :-)
